LIVING THE LIFE THE BIBLE PROMISES

ARTICLE

Every truly born again Christian wants to live the victorious Christian life. Is this really possible? Yes, it is—and your guarantee is as sure as the promise of God. How can we know what it is and how to have it? This is where sound biblical teaching is imperative; it will keep every Christian from being blown about by every wind of doctrine—of which there is no lack today.

Since every doctrine that a man believes can be traced back to his doctrine of God, it is only logical that a Christian’s first need is to understand what the Bible teaches about Who God Is. The next is how God works? Then, we would want to know how to live in Him and how He wants to live in us.

God tells us to study diligently to learn sound doctrine. (2 Tim. 2:15) Learning sound doctrine is both stimulating and life giving for believers. What has made it distasteful to many is when teaching is turned into dry, dead dogma. Unfortunately, two words have become unpopular: “doctrine” and “theology”. These should be two thrilling words to a believer! Why? Because having sound doctrine is essential to having a sound spirit. And having a sound spirit is essential to having a healthy, biblically balanced, Spirit-filled, victorious Christian life.  What makes the word theology so thrilling and life giving is that, by definition, theology simply means “the knowledge of God”.

Because we live in a postmodern day of excess, extremes and relativity in both the world and the church, it is necessary to the integrity of the gospel that its truth be held as absolute and accurate biblical truth. Since truth out of balance is error, it is imperative that our doctrine of God, the gospel of Jesus Christ and everyday Christianity, be kept clear and balanced. Jesus said we must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. When is the last time in church, or on Christian radio and TV,

that you heard a solid, clear salvation message— rather than unscriptural postmodernist “fluff.” When is the last time you heard a sound evangelical message on sin and repentance preached? If you have, you are

one of the privileged.

In the days ahead, we will surely see much church activity lauded as revival. We will hear a lot on the topics of Christian ecumenism, social activism and community service. Along with this will be some sort of mechanical steps for “walking out” the Christian life. However, you will hear little to nothing about sin and repentance. The latest, best selling “mechanical steps to Christian life” will replace the truths of the genuine, Spirit-filled Christian life. This is a life that produces vital fruit of the Spirit, not merely good works of consecrated flesh. Most likely, instead of hearing a message on how to live the crucified Christian life that Paul taught in Romans 6-8 (how by faith you can live the victorious Christian life, dead to sin and alive to God by His life in the Spirit), you will instead be taught something like “six steps to becoming a better you.” Perhaps some church will invite you to join their community ministry which goes out on Saturdays, so this "better you” can perform good deeds of service to the needy, like mowing yards. This way you feel better about yourself as a “Christian”…since you do Christian deeds through your consecrated flesh.

Understanding His Way Ministry was brought about to assist those who desire God’s alternative to the “fluff and stuff” nonsense preached by “huff and puff” preachers (impressed by their own eloquence, rhetoric and persona). We join with those believers who also desire to depart from

this— those who are ready to stand, together or alone, for God’s Word and His unchanging truth.

Fleshly religion, calling itself “Christianity”, throws an ever-widening net of foolish, but appealing, apostasy.  The closer we come to the time when God will bring these postmodern teachings down (as He has clearly promised in the book of Revelation), the more it will become evident what it really has been. If this brief article witnesses to you, then Understanding His Way Ministry is here for you.
