REVIVAL BRINGS A FRESH VISION
ARTICLE
Personal revival brings a fresh vision. Knowing that revival begins with the recognition and repentance of sin, how do we then come to prostrate ourselves before God in confession and repentance? We do this by a vision of God in all of His holiness and majesty. We do this just as Isaiah did. (scrip ref.) In revival, a person comes to see a fresh vision of the Lord. Getting even just a glimpse of such a renewed vision has a profound reviving effect on a genuine believer. Just like Isaiah, when we get a fresh vision of Jesus high and lifted up, we can then say as Isaiah, “Woe is me! for I am undone…my eyes have seen the king…”
When we see our King afresh:
• We will see afresh our sin and our desperate need for our Savior.
• We will see afresh His mercy.
• We will have an abounding thankfulness to Jesus.
• This will bring about in us a broken and contrite spirit and a wholly surrendered heart.
• Our spirit will become absolutely yielded to His.
• His power and glory will be manifested afresh to us.
This is personal revival. This is when revival has taken place in our hearts.
